    good morning all
I was just at http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/faqs/nonn4.html and was wondering if I did what they said about faking a netscape 4 install, if it would let my scanner see my email account and let me send a scaned picture without having to save it to my desktop and then attaching it to the email. My scanner supports netscape 4 but not mozilla

Although you are not saying it, you must be talking about Housecall AV. It is a pain, because it looks very deeply before allowing you to scan. It wants ActiveX and will not accept the NS7.x or Moz1.x plugin.
I have never tried the fix. It won't hurt, if you back up the files.

I really doubt that the "Fake Netscape 4 Installation" will allow it to scan a Mozilla Mail file. As I understand it, this is for faking out plugin installation programs. Even though the netscape.exe file is present, I would think the scanner software wouldn't recognize the email format of Mozilla.

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. I saw "scanner ", and, having just attempted a virus scan with Housecall, I did not even think of a picture scanner, which is part of my printer. But, why not install NS4.x , just for the purpose. Although, pictures on the hard drive works the same way.
Sorry, I totally misunderstood your question.
