No I completly understand where you are coming from and you are not coming off rude at all. This a learning experince for me and I went and did something I shouldn't have. I apologize extreamly for that. I appreciate your help, more than you know. If you think it is nessary I can basically have everything set up the way it was before when we started this, it's just a matter of doing some installing of things. I am not choosing to not follow your advice, trust me. You gave me more advice than anyone I have encountered in the past couple months or so. thank you.

As for the ATWPKT2.SYS file, I have found that on my computer 2x, but for renaming it, what do I name it to, anything in particular?

    It came up in: C:\Program Files\Common Files\aolshare\sysinfo
    E:\Program Files\America Online 8.0

To rename that driver for purposes of exclusion testing, i recommend rebooting into safe mode, and renaming all copies of the file to ATWPKT2.OLD or something like that. That way, when you are done testing, you can put it back by reversing the process.

hey Joe, just adding this one here, keep getting this. I wish there was a way to fix those symbols. Although maybe you can find something in here.

The stack on that is gibberish, which is obscuring the faulting driver. You'll need to get the symbols issue resolved. Maybe email it to a friend to run for you?

hmm if only my friends were ever online, lol. I'll see if my sister-in-law signs on and see if she can do it, she's not very computer savy though ;) . Also I did another online search on the 0x0000001e error, and found out it can be due to not having your aspi drivers updated. So updated those, let's see what happens with that one :)

Didn't joe just yell at you about fiddling with the software in the middle of debugging :) He's gonna give you an earful. hahaha

Don't touch anything else until you get that stack fixed up.
This is a clear error, the bad guy is right there on the stack, we just can't see it because your symbols are broken.

haha, alright I won't touch anything else :( but I haven't gotten the error if that counts for anything :p . I'm digging myself a hole really fast, lmao.

I am also getting stop 0x00000050
    Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area

I didn't do anything for this, lol. Maybe I can send the dump to one of you guys? No one is online on a Friday night, haha!

I got that evil 0x0000001e error again last night, ugh. Wish one of my friends were around to run the debugger for me :(

edit: I also just got a 0x00000050 error again, this time it brang up trid3d.dll <--that's for my video. Interesting indeed, as it does seem I get this error while loading pages, graphics, and the like. I should invest in a new one really. I mean 8mb is not cutting it, and they have ones out 10x that size now, lol.

this might be a long shot, but do u think reinstalling my symbols would work? I am downloading the sp4 symbols file .exe now, but won't install it unless I get the go ahead from Joe or someone else. Joe btw, I read your pm, I no longer have the C2 dump. I do cleanout's of my comp and sometimes have the .dmp checked by accident. I do have some of the other ones saved though. I have 50 and 1e one though. I just sent the 1e one.

stainedbeautie At this point, I'm going to recommend you contact Microsoft product support for further assistance. Theres a lot going on here, you have several problems, and a couple of limitations that are making this issue drag on a lot longer than it needs to. We are trying our best, but its too much to do in a forum.

Please visit http://support.microsoft.com/ and use the "Select a product to view your assisted support options" wizard to help you determine what kind of support you have availible for your operating system. You may be eligible for free support depending on how you obtained the software.

Please capture the information in this thread, it will be valuable to the support folks who can pickup where we left off.

I'm sorry we werent able to help you to conclusion on this.

I can't afford this right now. I guess I'll just have to live with the problems I have and buy a new one when I get the money. I have already replaced a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff in this computer. If I got in contact with them, it would cost hundreds more for them and hundreds more for parts, if they are needed, I can't do it. thanks for the help you have given me, anyways. But now I am back at square one and frustrated. How can you tell I have lots of problems? nothing else seems to indicate that.

Sorry to bother you guys again, but I think this may be my problem possible. I ran this Hot CPU Tester Diagnostic program and got this L2 CACHE error someone mentioned here: http://www.7byte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=257

Although no one seems to have a possible fix solution, know anything about this?

That is a bug in the diagnostic program, and not indicitive of a hardware problem.

I can't afford this right now.
Have you contacted the support line yet? It depends on where you obtained the software, but if you bought a shelf copy of win2000, you get 2 free incidents. If you obtained it as part of the purchase of the machine, you'll need to check with your vendor, but most give you a couple of grace cases.

I will summarize the efforts thus far and enumerate where you go from here.

Pool corruption caused by malfunctioning driver.
    Symptoms: STOP: 0x0000001E, STOP 0x000000D5, STOP 0x00000050, STOP 0x000000C2, STOP 0x000000C4

    Bad driver (cause unknown)
    Symptoms: STOP 0x00000050, STOP 0x0000001E

    Winsock Connectivity
Symptoms: winsock based applications are unable to contact the internet

None of this is evidence of a hardware problem. You have some malfunctioning kernel drivers, and possibly some bad drivers, and a strange problem with internet connectivity.

If you are unable to obtain further tech support, you should be focused on tweaking your software environment to change up what you are running. You've done several reinstalls, with no joy. Have you considered moving to XP?

stainedbeautie - the problem with trying to help you fix your issues has been that you would run a dump analysis, Ben would read through it and try to find a problem that needed further investigation and by the time he could respond, you would have changed something which made the previous analysis null.

This kept happening and made it absolutely impossible to help you fix your issues.

Ben is helping out with problems in his spare time and while he too polite to say it, I'm not; you have persisted in asking for help, not paying any attention to advice, asking for more help, and on and on to the point that you were wasting his time and abusing his efforts. I'm locking this thread.
