Look at the top of this page for Quick Links. Select Recommended Links and scroll to the bottom. There is a link to Zone Alarm and another to Kerio Firewalls. They are both good. I use Sygate Free addition after having tried ZA and Kerio.

I use Zone Alarm and don't appear to have any problems.

    Zone Alarm.

I use Zone Alarm. Why? Because If and when I get a problem their tech support (at least for me) is A1. We experienced a voltage surge that crashed my computer ( I now have Two surge bar protectors in series) Zone Alarm supplied my lost Product Key # within Hours .Symantec on the other hand ,just ignored my many many requests I finally found my original 3 year old package and obtained the info that I needed from there.

Hi: I am newbee here and kinda on pcs. I was using ZoneAlarm free when I was on SBC Dial up, and no probs at all. But when I went on SBC DSL starting yesterday, my system got all fouled up, couldn't log on properly or access the net, etc...Spent an hour with an teck, with heavy asian accent, who knew less than I did, and I finally figured out ZA was the culprit, when I uninstalled it (could not figure out how to disable ZA Free, anyone know?), then DSL was good..

Anyway, I now need a firewall, Sygate sounds good, if only it is compatible with SBC DSL, if anyone knows! Don't want to go to Inja again. BTW, anyone know how to uninstall FreeRamXpro - can't find the prog anywhere on my pc, incl Add/Remove Progs! Thanks. Pablo

    Free firewall

I been smartened up, and it's clear now: Zone Alarm is just fine as a firewall. Easy to handle now, to connect to the net, just had to lower the Zone security to Medium...No prob to disable by click on ZA icon on tool bar, click shut down ZA ...Recent call to DSL tech was good (even if outsourced!). So ZA Free is OK with me! Pablo

I have given up using ANY Symantec products. They always ignore requests that don't involve sending money

Add me to the list of those who've given up on Symantec (and for the very same reasons: they ignore your requests for help). As for a free firewall... Zone Alarm, Sygate or Tiny are all fine. It's more a matter of your own taste/comfort level.
