Hello. I have two problems that may be related in that they involve Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Word
My O/s is Windows XP, Home edition, SP 2.
    My IE version is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158
    My OE version is 6.00.2180(xpsp_2_rtm.040803-2158
My Word is MS Word 2002 (10.6612.6714)SP3
    Problem 1:
Word takes forever to open or close.
    Problem 2:
The icons of the toolbar of OE (create, reply, reply all etc.) slide to the right with each maximize/minize action that I do to check mail. Eventually, the icons disappear to the right.
    Help????
    Thanks.

    Dan756 - Welcome to the Board :)

I've not heard of that problem in OE - first thought is to run System File Checker ....

Start > Run > sfc /scannow - note the space and have your XP CD handy. SFC will run and exit without any closing dialogue. To see which files, if any, have been replaced look in Event Viewer.

Another outside possibility is video drivers - update or reinstall or both.

I don't think that your Word problem is related to IE/OE and I would encourage you to post a new thread on this in the Other Software forum. Have you tried a repair of Word? Help > Detect and Repair or go via Add/Remove programs in Control Panel - MS Office or Word if a standalone install > Remove and select the repair option.

Dan756 re your Word issue: Check your antivirus program options for an option to run "Office Plugin ". If it is checked, uncheck it and see if Word opens faster.
