    I can't open any emails (read or unread) in OE. I keep getting "There was an error opening this message. An error has occurred. "

    (I received some updates Microsoft for Windows XP and Office 2003 yesterday.
    After rebooting, for some reason OE was no longer my default email client. It was "replaced" by Outlook. I went into "C/Program Files...." and started up OE and reset it as the default.)

    Can anyone help me ?

    Thanx,
    Steve

    thanx. i looked at most (all?) of the links. none solved the problem. i am using windows xp which wasnt listed.
    i tried deleting IE and OE (after saving my folders and adressbook) so i can reinstall.
    How do i delete IE?
    Unless i delete IE I cannot reinstall, as i get a message "newer version detected... "

    XP - IE is too much a part of the OS so you can't remove it.

    From the start=>run line
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    is about the only repair option.
