Hi: This is the first time I am using this. I tried to do the Hijackthis. When I go to scan it a box appears stating that Hijackthis has encountered a problem and needs to close. The actual reason why I need to write you is I am having a hard time getting rid of VirtuMonde. I am running XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2. I don't know if this is enough information to go on

Thankyou so much for replying. I went into registry to delete what you said and I could not find them. Then I thought to go into c:\windows\system32\aklsp.dll that is where it is. When I scan that file it comes up with a threat. I tried deleting it and it says: Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not in use. I still cannot download HiJackthis. I followed the instructions but when it gets to scan it stops at HKCU\software\microsoft\internet\exploer\main,start page=http: highspeed rogers.yahoo. it says microsoft has encounted a problem and needs to close. Then it gives me the option to report error to microsoft or don't send. My operating system is XP professional service pack 2. Thankyou
