Need help removing trojans

I have this new free antivirus AVG 7.0 installed but unfortunately it doen't remove any of the nasties that take residence in my pc. Recent scan shows the following (partial list of the 32 infected files):

File: a.jar-33242f5b-369f2eaa.idx 148 bytes
Description: virus identified Java/ByteVerify
File type: IDX File

File: a.jar-33242f5b-369f2eaa.zip 21 kb
File type: Compressed (zipped) Folder

Is there any software I can use to remove those peskies?
