hello all , just wondering about a box that I get on screen when at rest, as follows,
when I leave my pc for a short while and it goes to, at rest ( black screen ) it displays a purple box with the words...BURN IN MODE...
it has been doing this for some time now but does not seem to have any adverse affects with the operation of the system am not up to speed with many things pc so would welcome comments from members,
    thank you

Could this possibly be a screensaver? Is this a new problem? Sorry about the joke on the other post. We do know how to be serious here, too! Welcome to the BBS! One of the mods may move this to hardware.

What monitor type do you have?

I have a mitsubishi, and the monitor itself has intelligence when it sees a black screen(aka my 'blank screen' screensaver), it will throw a rather ugly yellow screen up with similar verbage, and then go to sleep. I beleive you are seeing your monitor turn off the guns to prevent burn in, and its expected and welcome behavior.

Do you have power saving options enabled, if you tweak it to turn off your monitor after the same time as your screensaver, does it take a nap?
