  okay hal is up to something really confusing, every driver i tried to update was unsigned (the trust thingie) went to sysinfo ran sigverif for unsigned got invalad page fault in cdfview.dll, ran for signed got illegal operation.in same thing.cant run sigverif for errors. and would this have anything to do with me having to refresh pages @ yahoo (sometimes running day behind) or the national weather sevice or mt st helens volcanocam? this is new even for hal any ideas? if this is confusing it is because it is. if you need more info i will try but i do not know how to paste or anything like that.

If a driver is unsigned, and if it works, there is no problem I can see. It is not a big deal.
Have you ever cleaned out your Temp IE files?
Your illegal operation with Cdfview.Dll is a case of versionitis. Some older Win98 appilications, such as MsBackup, has a problem with the newer version provided when Internet Explorer was updated. It is better to keep the newer version you have.
