Have there been any hints about what enhancements we might expect in the next releases on Firefox and Thunderbird?

    Labarum,

This is to be included in Thunderbird 1.1:
Thunderbird promises to fend off phishers. Not much else that I have seen other than this short comment in the mozilla.org Staff Minutes:
    As for Firefox 1.1:

Updated Schedule for Mozilla Firefox 1.1

Is this what you mean't, Ramona?

"Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. "

    Psalm 23 (King James Version)

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

    Labarum,

I wasn't trying to be sacrilegious, honest. Sometimes my sense of humor gets me in trouble.

My sincere apologies if you were offended.

    Ramona,

I have been an British Army Chaplain for 28 years. You didn't come within a million miles of offending.

Here is some clerical humour sent to me today:

How Many Christians Does It Take to Change a Light Bulb?

Charismatic: Only 1 - Hands are already in the air.

Pentecostal: 10 - One to change the bulb, and nine to pray against the spirit of darkness.

Presbyterians: None - Lights will go on and off at predestined times.

Roman Catholic: None - Candles only. (Of guaranteed origin of course.)

Baptists: At least 15 - One to change the light bulb, and three committees to approve the change and decide who brings the potato salad and fried chicken.

Episcopalians: 3 - One to call the electrician, one to mix the drinks, and one to talk about how much better the old one was.

Mormons: 5 - One man to change the bulb, and four wives to tell him how to do it.

Unitarians: We choose not to make a statement either in favor of or against the need for a light bulb. However, if in your own journey you have found that light bulbs work for you, you are invited to write a poem or compose a modern dance about your light bulb for the next Sunday service, in which we will explore a number of light bulb traditions, including incandescent, fluorescent, 3-way, long-life and tinted, all of which are equally valid paths to luminescence. -

Methodists: Undetermined - Whether your light is bright, dull, or completely out, you are loved. You can be a light bulb, turnip bulb, or tulip bulb. Bring a bulb of your choice to the Sunday lighting service and a covered dish to pass.

Nazarene: 6 - One woman to replace the bulb while five men review church lighting policy.

Lutherans: None - Lutherans don't believe in change.

    Labarum,

Good! And because you do have a delightfully droll sense of humor I used the 23rd Psalm "My fund runneth over" quip. Army Chaplain eh, well then no wonder you have developed such a great sense of humor. I like the light bulb joke. Here's another, which you no doubt have heard a zillion times:

A Priest, a Methodist Minister, and a Rabbi were discussing the age old question of when life begins.

    Priest: Life begins at conception

Methodist Minister: Life begins when the child is born

Rabbi: Life begins when the last kid leaves home, and the dog dies...

    Ramona

Don't anyone kill me for the dog comment, just repeating a joke... I am a dog lover! :p

Oh heck James, and I meant to wish you Merry Christmas, and the time just got away from me...

BTW, you should feel good about the phishing enhancement in TB 1.1. I hope it will make you feel less anxious about using the Internet, and security risks.

Anyone know if there will be anything new in Mozilla Suite 1.8? I am hoping there will be some new things, but it is doubtful. All of Mozilla's work seems to be now going into Firefox and Thunderbird.

Just delete Lutheran and insert Orthodox.

(And don't shoot me my wife is Orthodox - lots of Orthodox and few Lutherans in UK)

    Off major theme, I see.
As far as I know, Firefox is based on the latest Mozilla, thus the final FF1.1 should be based on Moz1.8, or put it anyway you want it. The same should apply to Thunderbird1.1 to Moz1.8.
If all this is correct it is not true that there is no development of Moz1.8, and Moz1.8 should incorporate the same features as FF1.1 and TB1.1.
As for me I have given up on looking at Moz1.8a, because very few extentions were compatible with it, beginning with Moz1.8a5, and continuing with Moz1.8a6.

I use FF mainly but being the curious bloke that I am I'm running Moz 1.8a6 too. The extensions I found incompatible weren't really. They just needed bumping to meet the max version of 1.8+
