I'm using Windows Media Player v9 and I can't figure out how I can record a media clip.
I get emailed media clips showing comerical ads and can play them with the player.
    Need help.
    Bill.

Not sure what your needs are. You receive the file via email and WMP can play the file. WMP does not create video files, it is a player only.
Possible you would like to "Copy" the video clip from your email files to (example) a video folder.
Create a new folder / use an existing folder, then with attached email file in view, right click, select "Save as ". A screen will pop up, asking for file name. You can give it any name you like. Now look to the top of same screen and browse to your preferred folder, finish by clicking the save button.
Sorry if I'm off base for your needs.

A good place to start .. Windows Movie Maker. Friendly interface, allows beginners to get respectable results in a short period of time. Keep in mind, managing video will tax your hardware and your brain as you become more demanding / creative with the results.
