I am running XP Home and it is all up to date with updates. I have run disk cleanup and also tried manually to delete the contents of C:Documents and Settings/Owner/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files, but in Windoes Explorer nothing shows up. Clearing Temp from Internet Options doesnt seem to work either. So the folder looks empty, but when I run a virus scan it chugs along for a loooong time flashing the names of a ton of files supposedly in that location. I have the settings for show hidden files, etc turned on. Could a virus hide the temporary internet files? There were a number of viruses on this computer, all trojan.downloader variants. I am puzzled as to why I cannot get rid of all these files. They are mostly .js, .swf, .xml, .html, etc. Any thoughts or clues would be helpful!
    Thanks!

Try booting in safe mode, Admin account and open the TIF folder in question. If you have a Content.IE5 folder there, open it, select all from edit on the toolbar and delete. If no Contenet.IE5 folder, select all and delete the contents of the TIF folder. Empty the recycle bin and reboot.
