I somehow, while attempting to reinstall Windows 2000 professional, swapped my C: drive into my D: drive and turned my CD-ROM into my E: drive. All of this has left my jump drive my C: drive.

I'll further explain if this is just confusing any of you.

Before screwing everything up My Computer icon was arranged like this.

My Hard Drive was my C: drive. Which is now my Jump Drive
My CD-ROM was my D: drive. Which is now my Hard Drive
My Jump Drive was my E: drive. Which is now my CD-ROM
My 3 1/2 Floppy was my A: drive. Which is the only drive that resulted in no change.

I realigned by boot up to boot from my CD-ROM so that I couldn't either run repair or format drive C. Can anyone tell me how to put my drives back in their original order?

Try right-clicking on My Computer, and selecting Manage. Then select Disk Management from the left side of the Computer Management screen. On the right side you should now be able to right click each drive and change the drive letter.

Absolutely right with this exception. You can't change a drive to a drive letter already in use. First I would change the CD Rom to Z: drive. Then the Jump? drive to Y: Then Hard drive to C: Then your CD to D: Then your Jump to E:.
