    Can anyone tell me how to force XP Pro to expand My Computer to show all drives when opened from a Desktop shortcut?

    The /n,/e,C:\ suffixes used in Win 98SE are not accepted by XP.

    Try changing the command line of your shortcut to;

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.scf

    Incidentally, C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e will also work.

    Thanks for posting back PeteC!

    Don't be afraid to try things like;

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,C:\your filename

    or
    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,E:\your filename

    whatever, it's all good. :) I use;

    C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe /e,C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\Donfiles\Marsh\ all the time as my little Desktop quickie Shortcut to an often used folder.

    Thanks again, Zephyr. After your last post I did just that! Now have all my Desktop disk icons opening Explorer as I had in Win 98 SE.

    I was confused by the default command line in the XP shortcut, which would not accept the /e, etc.

    Shall sleep peacefully now !
