Major Problems [Cannot open My Computer, etc]

    All of a sudden I can no longer get into the MY COMPUTER folder, or the control panel, or the System Restore. What could be causing this?

    2. not logged on in correct user account.
    3. spyware
    4. things known only to God & gates.

    Can you describe what happens when you try to use these things? Quote errors.

    Are you logged onto an account that has admin privilages? In other words you can't be logged onto an account with limited or restricted privilages and access these things.

    As Tony pointed out some viral critters will lock you out of these things in a "self preservation" effort to remain living on your computer.
