Hi. I've got a card reader in my XP machine that can read a sony 32mb memory stick duo with no problems (when it uses the memory stick duo adaptor), but not my new sony 256mb memory stick duo. Tried a mate's sony 256 mb memory stick (not duo) and that won't read either.

Does anyone know of any incompatablities there may be reading cards over a certain size? At the moment I don't know if it's a fault with the card reader or something in XP.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers too but still no joy. I'm not sure of the exact make and model, but in device manager it's listed as in-win iapp ms usb.

    Any ideas???

Sounds like a software problem. Try getting new drivers from the mfgr.
