I seem to have lost this file. After running some virus software and finding imbedded virus in mscoree.dll, I deleted the file, thinking it was a all bad. Now, I cannot run Installation Wizard. After running Norton Systemworks, I find out that my missing dll file is required by Installation Wizard. Where can I find this file without having to install SP2 or my original (Gateway) operating system?

A Google search for "mscoree.dll" gave me a little over 13,000 hits. The first link is to this page where you can download mscoree.dll. If that download doesn't work, try one of the other links Google comes up with.

You can also run, at start, run, type sfc, OK system file checker and give it the file name and browse to your windows CD or the place on your hard disk where the system (*.CAB) files are stored.
