I downloaded a Excell form with macros enabled and now would like to submit it with macros disabled - is there a way to do that?

This may sound obvious, but is not meant to offend ....

Have you looked in the Help File - Macros. I haven't used '97 for some time, using 2003, but I guess you can delete macros from a workbook/sheet/form just as you can add them.

If there is I can't find it in help. I can disable it when I open the file but it does not save "disabled ", the next time I open the file its all still there.

Not sure if this'll work, But here's what I found in Excel 97:

    In Excel, select HELP
Select CONTENTS AND INDEX click on the INDEX Tab
Type in "Macros " (w/o quotes)
Select ENABLING AND DISABLING click on DISPLAY
Select ABOUT VIRUSES AND WORKBOOK MACROS click on DISPLAY
    View the Contents.

    Hope this helps
