I installed NS7.2 from CD on a new Dell4700 WinXP SP2. When I try to access a website, the page comes up in HTML gobbledegook and is useless. I have never seen this happen before.

    Also...IN C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles....There is no* Application Data\Mozilla\ Profiles* listed after user_name.

Has anyone experienced this? Any ideas or solutions.

    Thanks...

First the last question . You will see that Application Data is an hidden folder, but it can be unhidden. I guess that Uncle Bill Gates wanted to protect you from yourself, if you are clueless.
As for the HTML page, is that the one which you have it as an hyperlink? ? Whatever you did give needs redirecting, but I did not see anything wrong with it. If there is a problem with it, let me know, because can't see any problem.

I reinstalled NS7.2 on the new computer and the mail seems OK, BUT Navigator loads ALL pages in HTML, including the home page. Pages are just a mess of HTML and cannot be used. This happens with all profiles including *default*.

I have always used NS and have never seen this happen before. I cannot find anything in the guidebook or in preferences that addresses this problem.

I had to go back to my old computer and NS 7.02 in order to get back to BBS...all I got on the new computer with NS7.2 was a page of HTML for the BBS site.

I may have discovered the problem...I turned off Zonealarm Pro and was able to load sites normally.
I'm glad ZA was just a trial and that I hadn't bought it yet!!

    Dixie,

In a million years I wouldn't have guessed ZoneAlarm, and in fact you are the first person on this Forum at least, to report this problem! I've done a bizillion searches trying to find something that relates. Curious as to whether or not you had configured ZA, or just taken the default settings? I still use the free Version, so I'm not very familiar with the differences. I'm going to the ZA site and see if they list anything related to the pages loading in raw code.

Good going girl, and you can remove the "Dummy" from your signature now...

The free Zone Alarm is just a good Firewall, while the Pro, I think, is supposed to be doing everything, including causing messes, while costing money.
