PCI Multimedia Audio Device

Whoao - thats helluva lot of information. (most of which went far above my head)

Will someone tell me what exactly I do now to get my Audio back? All I could gather from the chitchats was I need enter BIOS set-up by pressing F2, then what?

 

No help anyone? I am still having the same problem! Trust me it's no fun working on the PC if you have no sound of it

 

Sometimes ME needs a little help getting hardware going. In my experience, and you are finding this out, installation CD's for hardware just doesn't seem to do it for ME.
I would leave IRQ's in the BIOS alone for now and do this. Put the driver CD into the drive, when the install runs, kill it.
Now go into Device Manager, and double click the entry for your sound under Sound, Video Game Controllers. Then in the little window that appears click on the Driver tab, then click on the Update driver button.
If you do not have an entry under sound, do the PCI Multimedia Device instead.
Let it do a search, it should search the entire CD and find the proper driver, and may present a list of drivers. If possible choose the one for ME, if not there use 9x. It may say 9x/ME, though.
Note, you may be asked to access the internet to search for a driver, I wouldn't let it at this time.
