    The default when closing multi-tabbed windows is a dialog box warning of multiple opened tabs. Very useful.

    I accidently clicked it to "no warning, close all ". Less than useful!

    How do I get it back to default "warn of open tabs "?

    JGB,

    For Firefox 1.0, go to Tools --> Options --> Advanced. The setting will be under Tabbed Browsing. Hope that helps.

    Thanks, but.....

    Should have been more specific. I'm using Mozilla 1.6

    And if I have to edit the profile, I'd appreciate a bit of a refresher on how.

    tnx.

    Sorry,

    I am working from memory ? :confused:

    What version of Moz. introduced "about:config "

    If it is not in Moz 1.6, may have to edit prefs.js or something else.

    Please post and let me know.

    regards:captjlddavis

    In Mozilla 1.6.

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.6) Gecko/20040113

    The simplest way to edit hidden preferences is to type about:config in the browser location bar, and press enter (or click on GO). This will display a list of used preferences, as well as a search bar on top. When a preference is set to anything other than the default setting, it will be displayed in bold. If you want to edit a preference setting, open the context menu for the preference (Usually by right-clicking on it), and select Modify. You will then get a text field, in which you can change the value of the setting. Click on OK, when you are finished.

    In the Location Bar, type ( without quotes) "about:config "

    In the Filter field, enter:

    warnonclose

    This should produce the following entry:

    Preference Name = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    status = user set
    type = boolean
    value = false

    Select entry - right click - Modify -
    set value to true
    This should restore the feature you want.
