When I click on a hyperlink in an e-mail message, Outlook displays this message," This operation has been camcelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer please contact your system admininstrator ". I am the administrator. I believe my teenage son has been experimenting with windows 2000 settings. Thanks for your assistance.

    hi aout there
I have a problem with a similary effect - under windows 2000 terminal server I from time to time get to server where an URL "doesn't work" - eg.: if you define a URL in a document it wont start either the default mail-application (outlook) or webbrowser (IE) - simply "nothing" happens - have some seen similary problems - and if so - found a solution??

    regards /ti

    hi again
My problem isn't covered by these articels - I don't get an error message when i click on what is expected to be a URL.
What happens is that we have a application which shall start outlook express when a URL - defining the mailto-adresse like mailto:joe@joesmail.com - is activated. I do not have office installed on that server but I expect that if I had I would not be able to start OE by double-clicking on a URL in Word. Can somebody out there tell me what happens if I double-click on a URL in Word and this forces IE or OE to start ? I have tried to track it with filemon & regmon from sysinternals but I got stuck in all those dll's and registry settings which are quereried...

    regards /ti
