Windows XP Color Schemes

    I was downloading a theme for Windows XP and when i went to the Display setting to change the theme, under the apperaence tab, windows XP windows and buttons no longer worked. I get an error message saying "windows can not run C:\windows\system32\shell32.dll, control_RunDLL and C:\windows\system32\desk.cpl ". The windows classic windows and buttons run, but not windows xp.


    Please help!

    Try System Restore to move back to before the download and install.

    If no joy, run sfc /scannow. Be ready to supply your install CD or direct SFC to your install files on the HD if asked.
