I have a couple of links on the Start Button (right-click links) which relate to programs which I have installed. I do not need these links on the Start Button and would like to know how to remove them. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Many thanks.

Have you tried highlighting and hitting the delete key?

Ian, What you propose to do will involve editing the Context Menu Handlers (perhaps the Shell Commands as well) on your system. It is generally possible but often not worth the effort except for academic reasons or idle pastime.

That said, get ContextEdit and unzip it to its own folder. It's a stand alone tool that requires no installation. Run it and search for your chosen command among the various listings, especially the first two items. With due diligence you may locate your prey and then you must uncheck its box. The change takes immediate effect and so you can verify the results even with the ContextEdit program running. If the results aren't as intended, merely replace the check mark in the box and look somewhere else.

Also be advised that some items that you would like to remove may be so completely integrated into the system that it requires the parent program to be uninstalled in order to accomplish your goal. This occurs when the software in question contains hard coded commands that aren't user editable under normal circumstances. I mention that so you will know that all things aren't possible for us mere users.

    Good luck.
