This should be in the Hardware forum but I don't have the power to move posts.

Anyway, simply remove the floppy drive from the boot sequence in the computer's CMOS. Depending on what brand PC you have, hitting Del, F1, F2 or something like that while the PC powers on brings you into the CMOS settings. From there find where it lists the drive boot sequence and hopefully there is an option to not look to the flopy drive.

Don't get corn fused Rancher, this thread started on the TEST POSTS area and migrated to here. You can't back track it, you just had to be there. :)

Thanks Zephyr. I thought I was dreaming for a second that this post was originally in the Test Posts thread.

I don't see why you want to stop it. Sure it takes two-five extra secs to boot up. I think it's good to have it on, so like if you gotta do something from DOS or whatever, you can boot right into it. Or if you have a program that has to be ran that way. But if youre 100% sure you'll never have to do that, then go for it. But yea, listen to their instructions.

I'm with you, Lee. I don't know why anyone would want to disable the floppy drive. The only exception I can think of would be a work setting where you don't want users to copy files to and from floppy disks for fear of viruses and breach of confidentialilty.
