I'm using MS Works Wordprocessor and am trying to send a "Rich Text" document.
When the recipient receives the doc. she gets the message (in short) this file maybe in use or is corrupt.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Try zipping it. Zips seem to go through mail consistently well.

There are a number of differing "doc" formats. It may be that the recipient is not using the same word-processing program as you are. See if the document looks normal in Wordpad and tell the other person to use Wordpad if it does, or agree on a program to read it.

Get the freeware PrimoPDF. Convert the file to a pdf. It works really well. The coverter becomes a Printer option.

The .RTF file format is widely used for exchanging text file between different programs and operating systems. It tends to be the choice when you don't know what the other party may have in the way of a word processor. I use it to send files from my PC to folks with MAC's.

I can't imagine someone not being able to open such files. They are not propriatary to MS Word or Works or any other program as far as I know.

What is the file ending of the files you are sending? In Works, open the File menu and click "Save As... ". Try rtf if that is not what you are presently using, or another format if you know what application your recipient is using to view the files.

    Thanks but no luck.
I've tried the *.rtf format, won't work.

    Thanks for the thought
