I have a windows 2000 machine that is getting the following error and rebooting:

    Bugcheck 0x00000050 (0xc397dc1c, 0x00000000, 0xa002f4cd, 0x00000000), Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]

Does anyone have any ideas that assist me in resolving this problem? I want to know what is causing this problem.

    Thank you,

    Requesting Assistance

I have the MEMORY.DMP file, but I am unable to successfully run the debugger due to an error can't find symbols. Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this so that someone can look at this dump in order to determine what is causing my problems?

    Thank you,

You must be connected to the internet with IP connectivity. If you are behind a firewall or proxy, you have to set some special flags.

If you have a MEMORY.DMP, as opposed to a minidump, you can take that dump to another machine that does have internet connectivity and run it there.

    Memory.DMP

I have tried connecting to the internet, but still get error message that it could not find symbols. What switch would you recommend that I try or do you have any other suggestions?

    Thank you,

how are you connected to the internet? What is your ISP? Do you use a modem, or a cablemodem or dsl?

If you open a command prompt, can you ping www.yahoo.com?

Yes, I am using DSL and I can ping any site, as well as transfer files via ftp. Does microsoft have a CD with the MSDN labeled symbols?

Just to be explicit, you used my tool and the log file has a bunch of bitching about symbols. It will do that for any non microsoft drivers. As long as it has NT, you are good to go.

I have no idea why you cant get the symbols. I assume you have some firewall thingy you dont realize you have thats preventing it from going out.

Can you post the log you have and lets see how bad it is.
