I've recently purchased a new computer that I had built and have found a few discrepancies and am trying to check other things as well. I need to know where to look to find the amount of ram(I ordered 512mb). XP loads too fast compared to 98se and doesn't count off it's ram the same way in order for me to check it.

You can choose between an self-installing .exe or a zip file.
Both are free and should provide alot of helpful info.

Thanks for the quick responses. I checked and it says 480mb ram. Doesn't 480mb of ram equate to around 512 total or should I see 512mb ram and it equates to more than that?

And you probably have an "on-board" video card that is using the other 32megs.

I was talking to some techs at work last night and they said something similar about 32 megs being used by other things (video card maybe).
