I use Remote Desktop frequently to access my home PC and would like to know if performance can be improved if I increase my upload speed at my home DSL connection. I have T1 at work so the download speed there is insanely fast, but RD is slow because I have DSL with 325Kbps upload speed at home. What if I double the upload speed? Basically my question is does RD have a FIXED UPLOAD speed therefore it would make no difference if I increase the upload speed at home? Has anyone here used RD to access an WinXP Pro computer that has a really fast upload speed above the 325kbps speed? Does the screen refresh really fast that it looks like you access the computer locally? In my case, it is pretty obvious because my RD screen renders slowly as if I were using a computer locally with a slow video card.

I use remote desktop a lot too. I find that it's based on the computer you're running the client on. When I'm on my laptop at school, the screen refreshes slow etc. But when I use one of the faster computers in the labs, it's a lot more smooth.

The upload speed didn't change niether because I have a monitor and it's usually around 10kb/s.
