When I try to install windows from cd, i get error loading OS

Originally the pc was getting black screen and blue screen issues with XP
I ran a memory diagnostic and failed 2 of them so i replaced my RAM, still got the blue screen issues. When i went to reformat in hopes that was a problem, it blue screened while i was reformatting and then i get the error listed at the top.
What can be done to fix this? and is the motherboard the source of the problem with the blue screen? because i can't think of anything else

well, at the moment, i can't get to a blue screen because i can't load an OS up. it used to be a blue screen about memory that counted up checking it then would auto-reboot
i'm pretty sure it mentions something about hardware installation
if you can think of something to just get me to maybe start reinstalling windows, because it won't go from cd. i know i find the floppys somewhere to try that maybe, and i don't know how doing it from lan works to try that, but i'm just kinda clueless

I would agree that your problem is hardware related - have you run the memory test on the new RAM ? Are you sure that you have the right RAM? As
you can't boot the only source of info is the mobo manual or, if you know the make and model no. of the board, log onto Crucial and work your way through their Memory Selector.

Windows Memory Diagnostic runs from a floppy at boot and tests the RAM - from Microsoft.

Motherboard or Hard drive are other possibilities - difficult to know where to start.

One approach is to use a Windows 98 Boot Disk to try and boot the computer and to try a format of the hard drive. If that fails it could be the hard drive .... or the mobo. Do you have a spare hard disk lying around that you could substitute to prove the point?

Another suggestion is to remove all cards from the computer - assuming it is a desktop? - leaving just the video card installed and try again. If this succeeds install the other cards one by one until you hit a problem. You then know where the problem lies.

gotta work today, but i'll try it when i get home.
the windows memory diagnostic was what i ran a few days ago that failed 2 of the tests and was why i put new ram in, but i'll go through these steps and post up results, thanks for help thus far :)
