IE address bar history lost

Somehow I have managed to delete the history in IE 6 address bar. Whenever I am using IE (during the same session), the typed URLs are available in the combo box, but when exiting and reopening IE they are not available. Does anyone know what is happening and how I may reinstate this feature of IE6?

I have made sure that under Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete/ - the web addresses check box option has been checked. I have also tried unchecking it and closing and opening IE and then rechecking it, closing and reopening IE and this doesn't correct the problem.

 

Hi xseedman and welcome to the board. Any chance you've set your history to zero days? If so, change it to something else and see if that makes a difference. Clearing your history also removes those entries. If you've set it to zero days, that would do it. Tools>internet options>general>days to keep pages in history

Not sure my attempt to reply got through. If it did, ignore this one. Not quite familiar with mechanics of the board yet. I appreciate the prompt response.
I checked and history was at 22 days and has been for some time.

 

xseedman--Outside chance. On the IE Tools|Options|Content tab|AutoComplete is the box Use Auto Complete| Web Addresses checked?
