One of my favorite pastimes is looking for interesting extensions. Once one gets past "kid in a candy store" syndrome, their are many useful additions.
After months of waiting, finally have a Gmail account. Went to install Gmail Notifier, clicking on the install button, nothing happens. Clicked on a number of others, "install" process never started, no page move, nothing. Any suggestions on what I broke and how to fix it.
    Thanks

It does not sound like you broke anything. May be it was broken from the start.
Did you read the User Comments at the site which you gave?
I do not know if you can get into the same problem as in Netscape and Mozilla by letting the download manager get overfull, but clean it up.

For this site / extension (?) the site's "install extension tab" does not appear to be functional. I had also tried Right click/Save link as, to local folder previously. This saved the .xpi, but clicking on it did not initiate install process. Of course if I would have "closed" FireFox, then click on .xpi it does, which I did and now it is installed.
    Thanks for your interest Westside

Good. I rely on the .xpi file 90% of the time.
