    Greetings,

Administrator is denied logon from xp workstation to windows server 2003 when trying to use remote desktop connection.

The error message is: This system does not permit you to logon interactively.

Now this used to work. Now it does not. Not sure what changed. Help.

I have made certain that the administrator is added to the remote desktop users group and that Remote desktop connection is enabled.

One more thing, I can add any other user to the remote desktop connection group and that user can sucessfully logon from the workstation to the server.

    Thanks in advance.

    -Kevin

    Domain network structure or workgroups?

Administrator - you mean a local admin on the XP workstation or a domain admin?

    Is this an SBS server?

You will need to check all the groups the Administrator is a member of directly and the Administrators as well. Then check the Domain Controller Security Policy snapin for the Deny Logon Locally and Deny Logon through terminal Services. A deny will override an explicit allow.

of course there were events of license violation. Linking the two together was not. fix one, fixes both? it seemed to work.
