That certainly casts doubt on the routing premise since you would likely be using the same routing in your case.

How about running CrapCleaner and getting rid of some possible corruption in your index.dat file. It has been known to cure strange problems like this and is chicken soup if it doesn't.

Just select to clean the TIF's and the index.dat for starters. Reboot is necessary of course so the index.dat can be dumped outside of the Windows environment.

Well, I don't really know what to say now. As surferdude2 said, that pretty much eliminates DNS. Next in mind would be maybe a problem with your ISP but that seems to be out too. I guess I would start taking a good look at the software you have installed and see if there's anything there that could be blocking it. Firewall, antivirus, ad blocking or maybe a proxy server of some type for example. Have you installed anything new recently?

We're grabbing at straws here but try this:

Open the HOSTS file with Notepad and verify that it doesn't contain an entry that you would need to scroll downward to see. Alternately, just land the cursor at the end of the localhost line and press and hold the DELETE key.

Do the windows open at all when you click on one of the links? If not it would appear that java script somehow got broke and for lack of anything better at this time all I can suggest is to turn off any popup blockers, ad blockers, etc. and give it a try. Either some software is blocking it or else things are broke (obviously).

If none of the above applies the only other thing I can suggest right now is to reinstall your java script and see what that does. You can download it at the link below.

Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP

One more thing you could do to see if java script is working or not is to run through the first set of tests in Fred Langa's BrowserTune 2000 . It doesn't take very long and it includes a test to see if java script is working or not. If you try it, let us know what you find.

If your Internet Options Security and or Privacy are on the tight side it can cause this as well. I've had to add some sites to "trusted sites" to get the pages to be "found" . On a friends computer I had to do as Zander says and re-installed the java script and that fixed his. Good Luck, let us know.

Well I added ezboard to the trusted site list. I instaled the script form the link and ran the test. On the end of the #2 test I succesfully passed all the test but when I hit the proceed button i get a new window with "page can not be dispalyed" and nothing has been sent to my email. The Microsoft page that I get sent to for a fix is not available. Can I unistall my browser and somehow reinstall it from my XP pro cd? would this help? Remember I am a very novice!....Mike

    there
Well, here's something I've never done before. Somehow I managed to mix this thread up with another one and this reply should have gone there .  Sorry. The things you tried can't hurt anything though. Guess I'll copy and paste it into the other thread.

Don't know if this is applicable to your problem, but I'll throw it out for consideration. Some time ago I upgraded the firmware on my Linksys router/WAP, after which I could no longer access certain web sites, including any Microsoft site I tried. After much hair-pulling and cussing I solved the problem by changing the router's MTU setting to manual and size to 1400.

    --can't connect from home--
I friend o' mine has the following issue, any help would be appreciated:

For about a week and a half now, I haven't been able to access any EZBoard forums (or even www.ezboard.com itself) from home. I suspect my IP address has been blocked.

The problem is that I can't find a way to contact EZBoard to ask them. There's no Contact Us link or e-mail address or even a phone number. If they've blocked me, I'd like to know why because it might mean that someone is using my server to spam people. Wall, dreg, cman, or any other admins, do you guys have a way of contacting ezboard?

    --Response: can't connect from home
Problem solved. Was directed to a similar problem by someone who had a cable modem connected to a Linksys router. In my case, I changed the router's static IP to a dynamic one and back again and the problem went away. Eerie, though. My problems started on the same day as the other posting. Part of a Linksys conspiracy?

    --help--
I seem to be having the same problem and have no clue how to fix the problem. I have cable modem too..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    --Re: help--

Shutdown your PC, and unplug any networking hardware you have(like a router) , and your cablemodem.

Leave everything off for at least one minute.

Plug in the modem and wait for it to sync.

When it's done, plugin any networking hardware you unplugged.

Wait until everything is done with it's internal self tests, then turn on the PC(s) you turned off.

    Try accessing ezboard again.

nine times out of ten, that solves the problem
