I installed Windows 98 on a new hard drive. Currently MS Paint will not allow me to "save as type ": .gif or .jpg files. (Currently I can save a bmp, etc.) I have run the 98 setup to see if I could add this feature, but it does not appear to be a choice that is offered. Is there another quick way to do this? I have also done all the critical updates for MS 98. All the other computers in the lab, their MS paint apps can support saving as type: .gif and .jpg. Help!

I found the info I needed on those pages you sent me and have fixed the problem. Thank you so much. It was easy to fix. I didn't have to mess with my regedit at all. Just used the Office 2000 disks and updated the all the graphics filters. Once I OPENED a gif and jpg file in paint, the filters showed up and I was able to save as those file types. Thanks again
