My sister (Running Win 98SE) accidently made the File>Edit>View>Tools etc. Menus disappear. She has no idea what she did. How do I tell her to get this back?

Did she hit the <F11> button to show full screen? Then at the top right hand corner, there should be a "restore" button next to the Windows Flag. (It actually resembles the normal "decrease" button with two small windows.)

It's not in Full Screen View.

AceH--If this just started, your sister should try Start|Shut Down| Restart in MS-DOS mode|OK. On restart, at the prompt, type scanreg /restore|OK|Pick a date before the problem started|OK|Wait|Reboot.
I assume she has looked around the area where that toolbar (called the menubar) should be and finds no little vertical bumps that would allow her to perhaps drag the bar back to normal.
Or she may have a corrupt copy of explorer.exe. Does she know how to extract one file from either her Win98 CD or C:\Windows\Options\Cabs?

Thanks Welshjim. I'll walk her through the scanreg /restore option.

Try this first: Press F11 to get the FULL SCREEN VIEW. On that bar of the FULL SCREEN, right click. There should be a drop down menu, select MENU BAR. Now press F11 again. The menu bar should reappear.
