Microsoft Word 200 Spellcheck

I have recently noticed that Microsoft Word 2000 Spellcheck has stopped working.

It was set up to highlight words spelt incorrectly and auto spell check the whole document.

Word has stopped doing this, also if I check a document with obvious errors it does not find them.

How can I resolve this?
