For the system in question, a ISA or PCI NIC won't do. I don't have any IRQs available, and the system refuses to do any sharing. But I do have one free USB port (the other is used by a modem). So is there a USB 10 or 10/100 NIC that would work in Win95? Upgrading that system to Win98 isn't an option. Win98 seems to hate all-SCSI systems.

"I don't have any IRQs available" -> Many hardware devices "share" IRQ's...Have you tried a PCI nic?

Nothing I know of USB will run on Window 95. The last edition of Windows 95 supported USB, but no device supported Windows 95.
