    Hi all,

I recently installed a Sitecom wireless router and until today, everything worked fine. However, when I start Outlook (2003) to check my email, and I push the 'send/receive' button, I get errors on receiving messages from both accounts. After that, my entire internet connection is gone. I have to reset the router and the modem, then everything's fine again.

But everytime I try to receive messages again with Outlook, this happens. Does anyone have a clue how I can solve this problem?

    thanx! :)

I just found out it's got something to do with the encryption I put on my router. If I take it off, everything works fine.

So the question is: How do I install encryption and still use outlook?

    Thanx again!

Encryption in a wireless network occurs in another layer that is independent of the applications that use that wireless transmission. Therefore when encryption is enabled and if you can use other networking programs such as IE but only Outlook cannot be used, then this is a mystery. The only reason I can think of is port number. Emails use different port than http. Is there a way to test if the ports used by Outlook are the cause of the outage of network connection?
