Remove Compaq startup logo?

    My son gave me his old Compaq Presario 5000 series to play with, said it kept locking up on him and he bought a new one. I've done a recovery, cleaned it up, tweeked it, updated it, etc. and have it running pretty smooth now even if it does have ME on it. I would like to remove the Compaq startup logo but not sure how. I did manage to remove the branding in Internet Explorer and Outlook express by a registry modification but not sure where to look for the startup logo. Anyone know?

    It's in the BIOS somewhere. That logo is BEFORE Windows.
