cd rom doesn't read windows reload cd

    I am having computer problems and want to reload my windows me program. My cd rom is a samsung dvd-rom-sd-612 and it will see all other cd's i put in it but not the reload cd. The cd is not bad because i have 2 different cd's both bought on the same day for the same model ( mom bought one on the same day as me.)
    we put them in her puter and they work. Oh please help me i am a computer idiot.:confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

    What do you mean when you say it doesn't see the CD? Do you mean that it is just not auto-running the CD? After putting the CD in, can you pull it up in My Computer? It might also just be meant to boot from.

    just because....?

    just because you bought them the same day does not mean that they are still in the same conidtion.

    however.. another possiblity is that the autorun feature in your computer has been turned off, so that it does not autostart programs the way it used to.

    As the above said... click on My Computer
    This opens up a window that should show you what drives are available.
    Do you see the one that says CDRom... If the Reload CD is in the drive, then it should have the title to the CD being read out.
    Click on it. This should open up a new window, OR
    change the focus of this window. either way it is not a problem.

    Look down the list for... Setup.exe, or Autorun.exe, or something similar to that.
    do a double fast click on it,
    or click one time, and press <ENTER>

    If the CD is fine, then the program should start running at this point.
