Or just type sendto on the startmenu "runline ". Your sendto folder will open. DragNdrop any shortcut you wish into it.

    .................................................

    Dez,

I downloaded Kelly's tweak but don't know how to open it. All that happens is a small black rectangle window opens for a fraction of a second and then nada.

    I already have Ponti's sendto.

    Anything? Anybody...

It's a reg patch and when double clicked on will merge the hkey data into your registry. You should have gotten a little alerter asking if your sure you wish to add this to your registry. Once confirmed, this adds(merges) the entries "copy to" and "Move to" to the context menu (right click) just above the "send to" entry. Are you sure you downloaded the first link and not the one right next to it which is the "Undo" for these context menu additions?

This is the bolded text in the *.reg patch:(which is the same as exported registry hkeys. When the extension .reg is double clicked on it is imported into the registry)

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Copy To]
    @= "{C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13} "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Move To]
    @= "{C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13} "

I'm not sure why you got a little black window flashed at you. Sounds like a dos box but why that happened... dunno. Does your regedit function normally?

    Hi Toroguns,
I'm not sure if you figured this out and got it to work or if your still wondering wha' happened. Perhaps you just gave up????

---Looks like I'm beating a dead horse but since I just stumbled across this while looking for something else, I thought it appropriate to tack it in here for a "headsup ".

Past posted infrequent problem when using the copyto moveto tweak. Something to be aware of and keep in the back of your mind:

    http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cach...owsbbs.com+customize+folders&hl=en&lr=lang_en

    ^^^Excerpts from the above^^^
    --Problem----
Problem: The Copy/Move option window opens when I click unrelated items such as faxes or start menu program items. I then have to close/Cancel the Copy/Move windows 2 times before the desired reaction occurs,ie, my fax opens or my program menu item opens to be explored. I ensured that registry entry was accurate. Uninstall/reinstall did not fix...what do I do?

    -----Answer----
Though I have the same problem as you do, (it seems not so frequently). It is annoying sometimes. The only suggestion I have is to remove the customization and use the Copy To and Move To buttons in the Explorer panel. (Customize to show the buttons if they are not there.) It is not so convenient, but doesn't have that problem.

There are many alternative shell extension/enhancement programs that accomplish the same thing, but the least intrusive I've found is FileTargets:

    -----Response and fix---
Thank you for your timely reply. It's good to know that I am not the only one with this problem. I deleted the registry entries and used your recommended freeware program, FileTargets, ...problem solved.

    ---Additional Personal Comments---
It is mentioned that this is a rarer infrequent problem some may experience after adding these context menu additions. I have never experienced such a problem myself. I did, however, feel that it was appropriate for me to tack this warning in for those who may. Nothing is perfect. I guess you "takes your chances ". This tweak is easy enough to add or undo so no permanent harm is done. The freeware only proves that there is more than one way to do most all things. (Speaking of this and by the way, the old powertoys sendtox still works in xp. Adds the addition of send to "any folder" among others. Any unwanted additions can be removed. Once again this is not perfect, rare-some users have had problems that needed ironed out.)
