Whenever I right click on .mp3, .wav, and .pls Window Explorer crashes.

At first I thought it was a corrupt user, but it happens with every user.

Then I thought it was Winamp 5.x causing the problem and so I uninstall Winamp and had Windows Media Player 10 be the default player for all types of media. That didn't work either.

Now I'm thinking it might be a registry problem dealing with the context of the right click and those extensions, but I am not sure where to look. Of course I'm pulling straws at this point. :)

Try disabling all non-MS context menu items. You can do that easily using ShellExView

If that gives relief, you can add them back one at a time to isolate the culprit.

    Thank you surferdude!

That solved the problem. It was the "MP3ToWave Shell Extension" context menu.
That shouldn't be to hard to fix. Just need to uninstall/reinstall and all should be well. If not, I'll just uninstall it.

    Thanks again.
