Ms-dos Prompt

    I have this loading at sstart up and it just started yessterday. MS-DOS PROMPT
    Miscrosoft VMM32 Old Application Support Module V4.00. Does someone know what or where it is coming from and how to keep it from loading? It shows when I do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

    I think you can safely surpress this using msconfig.exe / Start-Up tab
    it is not normally needed by Win98/Win98SE.
    An Internet search will give you more info ... "Microsoft VMM32 Old "

    I have looked in Msconfig and it is not listed and I have Startup Cop and it is not listed there either but if I use my enditall program it cannot shut it down as it says it is running. ????? weird What program would cause it to run?

    First, be Carefull->VMM32.VXD is required to run Windows.

    What changes did you make to your system right before this started?

    Edit you autoexec.bat file and post the contents here.

    I can not rembember that I had changed anything. My grandsons were here at Christmas and on the computer though.

    Remove that entry (untick).
    Open Explorer, browse to c:\Newfolder, and delete it.
    Restart.

    In case you are lost as to which item Reboot is referring to, it is the first line listed in Autoexec.Bat.
    LH C:\NEWFOL~1\MF.EXE
