Spybot detects the following problem: Windows AdTools.
When I open the crosshair it shows the location as C:Windows\System32\ide21201.vxd.

If I fix the problem, then re-run Spybot, there are no threats found.
However, if I restart my machine (Windows XP Professional), then run SpyBot, the threat is found again. So, this thing is being installed by some program during restart.

Attached is a HJT log. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Also, "while you're at it ", if you see anything else in this HJT log that you think I should delete, please let me know.

    Thank you!!

    Hi

Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items,
Close all browser windows and shut down all other programs that show in the taskbar. (even Folders) Then Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis.

    Lonny,

Thanks for the email. I followed your directions exactly, and this stuff is now removed (tried multiple restarts, each time followed by Spybot and Adaware scan).

This trouble ticket can be closed! :)

    Thank you!
