    Hi

I am running IE5.5 with Windows 2000, and even though the Dial up Account seems to be set up OK (with Password entered and remember password selected), when I get the dial up screen there is a different passord in the password box (different number of characters from mine). While not a disaster it is annoying, any ideas?

    Welcome.

That's normal. It's intended to mask the actual number of characters in the password field.

Many thanks I feel really stupid, I should have checked if it actually dialled in.

However one more question you may be able to help with, is that in Outlook Express, for some reason even though incomming mail is set up as pop3 mailbox, and the address entered into the Incomming mail box, whenever i restart Outlook Express the address dissappears and localhost appears instead, also the mail account name gets added to the end of the account mail address.

I have checked the settings but cannot find the cause of this strange problem.

Localhost is placed there by your antivirus e-mail scanner.

Well, we don't know which antivirus program you are using. Besides, I'd suggest checking the support site for your product.
