Could someone please tell me how to delete an email message without opening it. I am using outlook express 6 & I can't find the answer in the help files. There must be a way, what with all these viruses happening, & I "m sure it's some simple task that I am not aware of.
    Thank you

    Hi Lucy!

The hot setup is to be able to preview your mail without actually downloading it from the server.

Go download MailWasher which is a nice little freeware program that does that. It will allow you to selectively "Bounce" spam back to the sender and they'll think you no longer exist. In time you'll be dropped from their list hopefully.

It's easy to set up, has an import button so it gets your mailbox settings automatically.

Just use it instead of your regular mail program. It will start your old program automatically when you ask it to process your choices. It's pretty great!

    Good luck.

In OE6, you can switch off the preview pane from View > Layout and unchecking Show preview pane. Now you can delete emails by selecting them and pressing your delete button, or clicking on Delete from the OE menu....

    Hi Zephyr
Appreciate your reply, now all I have to do is decide which advise to take. Sometimes you have too many options, & for an inexperienced operator it can sometimes be more confusing.
    Thanks again
