In using the 'search' provided, did not find anything relating to this particular crash:
The problem occurs every time when accessing any url's in email messages that take me from OE to the web. After visiting, upon closing the window, the crash happens. I use WinME with IE6 & OE6. The problem also occurred with IE5 & OE5. Any one know of a solution for this type crash? Thanks....

What's the full text of the error? Click Details or More Info. I can't remember which in WinMe. Do you maybe have a Personal Web Server installed?

I don't know what to say other than that CrashGuard is infamous for causing more crashes than it prevents. I'd recommend uninstalling CrashGuard. One of two things can then happen. Your problem goes away or it doesn't but you don't have CrashGuard in the picture as a possible cause.

Okay, will uninstall Crashguard & see what happens. One more question: How is a crash situation handled without protection of some sort? I've never been without it, so don't know what to expect. If I can do without it & have fewer crash problems that sounds worth trying.

I now have additional info on the Ole crash. Should have done some homework before asking questions. Went to Windows Explorer, under "System" found 'ole db', clicked there & discovered the following text document describing OLE DB:: "Microsoft SQL Server OLE DB provider; exposes interfaces to consumers wanting access to data on one or more SQL servers ". (end)
In this file also found "MSDASC Help" & MSDASC Text documents that discuss "Ole" function. I don't have the experience (yet) to interpret any of the above correctly. to enable me help myself get out of this OLE Crash" mess. So, I'm asking for help from anyone who cares to give it a shot.
Also uninstalled Norton Crashguard & again tried to go from a hyperlink in a email message in Outlook Express to a website, got there okay but when I clicked to close the program, had another crash.
Additionally: am using eMachine 667i, OS WinME System 4.90.3000, 63 OMB RAM. (If this helps).
Appreciate greatly any information that will help solve the problem.
