    Goodmorning all,

I have set up a wireless router and have several laptops connected to the internet via this router (secured) with no problems. I set up a new pc to accses the wireless router with all the proper codes in the wireless networks settings and it did connect and stayed online for about 4 hours. I had to reboot the pc and then it would not connect. It shows a whole differant IP address and is not assigned by DHCP like the others.

My router config is as such,
    Wireless Enabled
    Wireless SSID Broadcast disabled
    Wireless channel 6
Open/Wep (currently useing ) Wep key code #2 XXXXXXXXXX all pc's are set to this key in wireless network properties.
Mac addressing ( currently 6 spaces used) set to restrict accsess
    DHCP enabled
    Obtain IP automaticly

Is it possible that my setting in the router config are not correct? or is it more likely that the pc settings are not correct? I was thinking maybe I have the router set to only allow a certain number of pc's on but find no setting for that. Your comments are appreciated. I hope I have explained properly as I am still learning all this wireless stuff  Thanks in advance.

I'd put money on it being a problem with the PC or a wireless signal problem. I expect what is happening is that the PC is failing to connect to the wireless network and is therefore unable to get the automatic IP address from DHCP. Then its falling back on its default setting. If it was the router, I'd expect the problem to be seem on a number of PCs, rather than one.

It would be worth trying setting the IP addressing manually to see if you can get a connection.
