HELP! upgrade from home to pro

    I would really appreciate help. I just upgraded my computer from XP Home to XP pro (corporate edition) and now my computer will start up fine, it comes up to the welcome screen (where you select user) I select the user and it takes awhile but eventually it come up with my wallpaper. And thats it it wont load the desktop at all... Im in deserate need of help becaue i have a term paper i need done and its on that computer. Please help

    It sounded like you upgraded with a bogus copy of Windows. Anything could be your problem when not using the genuine product.

    While people think they're "getting over" on the software manufacturer, the warez distributors are "getting over" on you.

    Hello Bszx,

    Boot up in safe mode: tapping the F8 or F5 key.

    You should have at least 2 choices - continue in safe mode or access to System Restore (or last known good configuration). See if there is a Restore Point and restore the system.

    BTW, you should give us the "make & model" when you ask questions like these. What brand of computer and how old?

    And, please take a lesson from this - BACKUP important files.
